When I was in 2nd grade, we had a field trip to the Academy of Science. The curators/handlers brought out a little blind owl and told us that, when the owl was younger, someone had thrown something at him that resulted in his loss of vision. I can remember feeling so sad for the little owl and vowing to find the delinquents the who were responsible. I even went home and made "wanted" posters offering a reward for "The assholes who blinded the owl." I never did catch the culprits...if you have any info, let me know, I'm still looking.
